DR. LILY PINCHO WU
Dr. LILY PINCHO WU is the lead Consultant at Rochester Specialist Clinic. She is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon with over sixteen years of experience in Surgery. She is also a part-time lecturer in Surgery at the School of Medicine and Dentistry, College of Health Sciences, University of Ghana and also at Accra College of Medicine, Ghana. She is highly proficient in open Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Intervention.
She is a member of the European Society of Vascular Surgery (ESVS), Vascular Society of Southern Africa (VASSA), the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA), a fellow of the West Africa College of Surgeons (WACS) and a fellow of Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons (GCPS).
Dr Wu is a member of the Ghana National Medicines Selection Committee for the drafting and review of essential drug list. A member of the multi-disciplinary team for the separation (for the first time in Ghana) of craniopagus twins. She is the first person in Ghana to successfully repair symptomatic aortic aneurysm using endovascular technique under local anaesthesia (ie patient awake throughout the operation)
She has won a number of awards, some of which are:
- Winner of the Gold medal award for Innovation at the maiden edition of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital INNOVATION SUMMIT- 2020
- Gold medal for the Best Performing Candidate in the Vascular Surgery Examinations, South Africa, VASSA – 2017
- Gold medal for best performance in General Surgery- FWACS – 2011
She has an MPhil in Vascular Surgery from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and has a number of publications in medicine.
